Stan Whinnery is a 5th generation rancher whose family homesteaded in the San Juans over 150 years ago.  The family ranch is still owned and operated by Stan and his family.  The cattle and hay operation continues to be dependent on the original flood irrigation all done by hand with water rights dating back to 1898.

Water and water rights is very personal to Stan and he believes in the struggles with supply and demand and how it effects all those up and down stream.  Conservation, natural resources, and  sustainability is what drives Stan to create and develop river, ranch and forestry projects with beauty and long lasting results.
